91É«Ç鯬 Gateway
An inclusive institution where our student body reflects the diversity of the broader population.
91É«Ç鯬 Gateway expands access to higher education for students who are underrepresented at university.
By combining a targeted educational outreach program with a dedicated admission pathway, 91É«Ç鯬 Gateway supports students to strengthen their academic outcomes and provides equitable access to 91É«Ç鯬.Â
We work with students in Years 10 to 12 who are traditionally underrepresented in higher education, including those from low socioeconomic backgrounds, Gateway partner schools (socio-educationally disadvantaged schools) and Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islanders.Â

NSW secondary schools
We partner with over 400 secondary schools (known as Gateway partner schools) primarily across greater western Sydney and regional NSW. Gateway partner schools are identified by taking either:
- the three-year average of Index of Community Socio-Educational Advantage (ICSEA) for schools across NSW, or
- the three-year average of the proportion of students in the bottom socio-educational advantage (SEA) quartile.
The ICSEA and proportion of students in the bottom SEA quartile of a school can be found on the Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority’s , website.

Higher Education Participation and Partnerships ProgramÂ
The Gateway Admission Pathway and Program is partially funded by the Commonwealth Government through the Higher Education Participation and Partnerships Program (HEPPP). HEPPP provides funding to universities to implement strategies that improve access to undergraduate courses for Indigenous students and students from regional and remote or low socio-economic status (SES) backgrounds. It also aims to improve the retention and completion rates of those students.Â
