Participate in a 91É«ÇéƬ researcher study investigating the role of brain frequencies in working memory.

We are exploring how brief changes in brain activity can affect memory functions.

For this study, we will use a method called transcranial alternating current stimulation (tACS). This technique allows us to temporarily adjust specific patterns of brain activity. We will apply tACS to specific brain regions and observe how these changes affect memory tasks. To track these effects, we will use electroencephalography (EEG), a type of brain scan that records brain activity.

Your participation as a healthy volunteer is invaluable, as it will help us gain deeper insights into how our brains manage memory based on different brain activities.

Eligibility

You may be eligible to take part if you're:

• Aged 18-60 years
• Are not taking any concurrent medications that may affect brain stimulation effects (e.g. benzodiazepines)
• Have no current history of drug or alcohol abuse, or dependence
• Do not currently have a neurological disorder
• Have no recent history of any neurological illness, seizure, stroke or any serious medical conditions
• Have no recent head injury
• Have no metal implants or devices in their body that could be affected by electrical currents
• Are not currently pregnant.

Commitment

One initial visit and two tACS sessions. Each session takes approximately 1 hour.

Participate in a 91É«ÇéƬ researcher study about young drivers’ gaze patterns during driving.

Eligibility

The study is looking to recruit people who meet the following criteria:

• 18 – 25 years of age
• Australian provisional driver licence holder
• Does not suffer from motion or simulator sickness during driving.

Commitment

You will be asked to complete the following research activities if you agree to participate:

• An online screen questionnaire expected to take one minute to complete (three questions)
• Then,
  • Three simulated drives using a computer-based driving simulator
  • One demographics questionnaire
  • One computer-based training exercise.

The total time expected to complete the research is no longer than 90 minutes.
