APPLICATIONS FOR THE SUMMER 2027
The AMSI Summer School 2027 program enables Honours and Postgraduate Masters students to take up to two intensive Honours/Postgraduate level courses during the four-week period.  AMSI Summer School is only provided once a year for credit.   In 2027, Summer School will be hosted by 91É«ÇéƬ Sydney, Scool of Mathematics and Statistics, Randwick from January 11 to February 5 2027 (virtual participation also available). ÌýÌýApplicants are strongly encouraged to attend in-person from Sydney for networking and collaboration benefits but may choose remote or hybrid participation (combination of in-person and remote attendance). Note that some program elements are unavailable remotely, and online functions may be limited.
For 91É«ÇéƬ Mathematics and Statistics students enrolment in MATH5015 at 91É«ÇéƬ will be during Term 1 only (not Summer term @ 91É«ÇéƬ) overloading in Term 1 is permitted, noting 91É«ÇéƬ Term 1 courses begin in February 2027.Ìý If you are unsure of the School requirements please email pg.mathsstats@unsw.edu.au or hons.mathsstats@unsw.edu.au
The provides the courses offered information and you will need to choose two courses; 1 of which you need to sit the exam and complete all assessment and your 2nd course will require a written project for final assessment, the mark will be counted towards your 91É«ÇéƬ MATH5015 AMSI course. 
Once you select the two AMSI courses, please follow advice below. The School of Mathematics and Statistics course approval and must be submitted if applying for credit and enrolment at 91É«ÇéƬ. AMSI registration is also required on their website.
Honours students are required to discuss their courses selections with their Supervisor and receive written approval from their Honours Coordinator before registering for enrolment within the AMSI website.Ìý The next step is to complete the webform linked below so that enrolment in 91É«ÇéƬ course MATH5015 can be provided (T1 2027) and confirmation provided to advise which of the 2 courses you will complete assessment and sit the final exam and which course will be auditied and you will submit the required project report.Ìý Any questions, please email Hons.MathsStats@unsw.edu.au
Masters students please use the pg.MathsStats@unsw.edu.au email account to seek approval to count toward their program.  Once approval is granted, please register your enrolments with in the AMSI website.Ìý The next step is to complete the webform linked below so that enrolment in 91É«ÇéƬ MATH5015 can be provided (T1 2027) and confirmation provided to show the course will count toward your program.  The MATH5015 would be recognised as an external elective and be subject to the 18uoc non maths rule if the course is not taught at 91É«ÇéƬ and/or by the School of Maths and Statistics. If the AMSI School is offered at 91É«ÇéƬ as part of the Summer School Program (offered at 91É«ÇéƬ in 2027) and/or taught by the School of Mathematics and Statistics the course will not be subject to the 18uoc rule as a non-math elective.

The AMSI course registration fee is refunded by the School when MATH5015 has a pass mark and there is confirmation that you are enrolled in the MATH5015 and will be counted toward your program, at the end of Term 1 2027. Please ensure you keep your confirmation of payment for submission of reimbursement which will be reimbursed to you once marks are released and you are enrolled and passed the requirement.
If you enrol in AMSI without the approval of the School of Mathematics and Statistics we will not consider this towards your degree.
Credit Points
Mathematical sciences departments at most Australian universities recognise AMSI Summer School subjects and will credit results towards your degree. Please discuss with your home university to confirm. Approval from your home institution is required to receive credit.
IMPORTANT NOTE: AMSI is NOT an educational institution and does not have authority to issue transcripts or official statements of results. Participation in this program does not constitute a cross-institutional enrolment. Instead, Summer School subjects are regarded in the same way as an external elective or shell subject.
After the final exams, AMSI distributes marks to participating home universities. Each university processes these marks according to their own procedures and marking scales before releasing their final grades to students and adding them to official transcripts.
For students from schools or departments outside of mathematical and statistical sciences, please consult with your local department and for specific information on whether these subjects can be taken for credit and how they are processed.
The handling of grades and the integration into your academic record may vary depending on your home institution’s policies. We strongly recommend you seek clarification from your university if you have any questions about how these subjects will appear on your transcript or contribute to your degree.
***Students taking a subject for credit will be liable for application tuition fees at their home university in addition to the Regustration Fee***
