Loneliness is now recognised as a with a serious impact on physical and mental health, quality of life, and longevity.

Why is this, and what can we do about it?

The Big Anxiety Research Centre is hosting the festival Loneliness and being alone, and the Textures of loneliness exhibition, exploring the conditions and determinants of loneliness across diverse communities, showcasing a range of creative resources, programs and innovative tools, designed to help alleviate it.

The global Delight~Disrupt 7-Day Challenge took place between Feb 2–8. Each day of the challenge gave suggestions for quick, easy, playful, powerful moments. 

(Daily) Delight~Disrupt started as one of five projects supported throughout Massive Action Sydney — a partnership with designers and , and their ®, focused on addressing the wicked problems of climate, mental health and environmental stewardship.

From cutting-edge research to grassroots community-led initiatives, the 2025 Showcase championed changemakers across 91ɫ��Ƭ’s network.

Visitors got to meet the experts at the forefront of world-changing discoveries and connect with innovators through demonstrations, talks and interactive sessions to understand how their work is creating a more sustainable, equitable future.

How to Play in Slow Time is a podcast where artists pull back the curtain on their creative practices and share how they listen, play, embody, imagine, model, and collaborate towards discovering something new. Each episode interviews an Australian-based artist and unpacks their process of making-from the first seed of an idea, to its final form and audience reception.

During September 2025, Dr Rebecca Green (91ɫ��Ƭ Art & Design) and Sally Giblin (Be The Future and 91ɫ��Ƭ ADA alumna) ran six workshops called ⚡️The Future is Electric! at Toongabbie Public School, where Year 5/6 students explored renewable-energy futures through hands-on imaginative play, and a little speculative design magic!

Professor Philip Oldfield, Head of School at 91ɫ��Ƭ Built Environment, explains how a lack of affordable housing near major employment hubs is impacting the people who work there, and how businesses can build better workplaces.
