Overview
This double degree is designed for students wishing to pursue a career in either Engineering or Biomedical Engineering. The Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) will provide you with a solid background in mathematics, natural sciences and computing which give you knowledge and skills in your chosen engineering discipline specialisation.
Biomedical Engineering applies engineering principles to the development of technologies and solutions in a range of healthcare-related fields, including implantable bionics, drug delivery systems, medical imaging, radiotherapy, orthopaedic devices, robotic surgery, cell and tissue engineering, physical rehabilitation and others. This double degree is currently offered for select specialisations only.

- The 2026 Lowest Selection Rank (LSR) is the adjusted rank (ATAR plus adjustment factors) you would have needed to gain entry to this degree in 2026.
- The 2026 A levels score is based on four Advanced Level (A2) subjects. Entry scores are calculated from the best three or four A2 subjects (excluding repeated subjects) using the following values: A*=6, A=5, B=4, C=3, D=2, E=1. Adjustment Factors
We offer a range of adjustment factor schemes that reward students for academic performance and extra-curricular achievements. These schemes also take into account a range of personal and educational disadvantages that may have affected your studies.听
HSC Plus听
This scheme rewards students who perform well in Year 12 subjects that are relevant to their preferred 91色情片 degree. You may be awarded up to five points.听
Elite Athletes, Performers and Leaders (EAPL)听
This program recognises achievements in the areas of sport, academia, leadership and music at an elite level. You may be eligible for up to five points.
Factors such as illness, financial hardship, language difficulties or attending a particular school can mean you don't always get the best possible marks in Years 11 and 12. If one of these situations applies to you, submit an application for the Educational Access Scheme (EAS) via UAC. Eligible students can receive between 1 and 10 points towards their chosen 91色情片 degree.

Young Women in Engineering Pathway Program
This degree is eligible for admission through our听Young Women in Engineering Pathway Program.* Participate in this five week program and work on an Engineering challenge, guided by academics and student ambassadors. Participants will receive an early conditional offer with an adjusted ATAR requirement upon the completion of the program and the submission of their project.

Information for applicants with CBSE, HKDSE or Singapore A Levels Qualification
Calculating your CBSE Score:
Awarded by CBSE, average percentage marks across English or Hindi, and your best four remaining subjects. Where marks are given as a range, the mid-point for that range is used e.g. 75 to 80 = 77.5.
Calculating your HKDSE Score:
Entry requirements are based on the aggregate of the best 5 achieved category A subjects (category B and C subjects are not considered).
For subjects other than Citizenship and Social Development: level 5**=7 points, level 5*=6 points, level 5=5 points, level 4=4 points, level 3=3 points, level 2=2 points, level 1=1 point, Level U=0 point.
For subject Citizenship and Social Development: Attained=2 points, Unattained=0 point. Citizenship and Social Development will only be counted towards the aggregate if the 2 points awarded for Attained ranks among the student鈥檚 best five scoring subjects.
If Mathematics Compulsory Part and Extended Part (Module 1 or 2) are both presented, both scores can be counted.

The Bachelor of Engineering (Honours)/Master of Biomedical Engineering is a five-year double degree that allows you to graduate with two separate engineering degrees. The Bachelor of Engineering will provide you with a solid background in mathematics, natural sciences and computing that鈥檒l prepare you to learn knowledge and skills in an engineering discipline.
Your Biomedical Engineering degree will blend study in areas of engineering including electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, computer engineering and chemical engineering. Combining these disciplines you鈥檒l study a range of topics, such as:

In your first year you might听study:
- Two introductory听courses听in Mathematics
- An introductory course in Physics
- and an introductory course in Computing
You may also study an introductory course related to your specialisation of choice. These courses equip you with the skills required for the rest of your Engineering degree.听
All students听study听ENGG1000 鈥淚ntroduction to Engineering Design and Innovation鈥.听In this course听you鈥檒l听learn to think the way that engineers think,听developing听solutions听with limited听budget, time and resources.
In your second and third year听you鈥檒l undertake:
- Courses from your selected specialisation, in this degree you can choose one of the following specialisations: Bioinformatics Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, Software Engineering or Telecommunications.
- Core听courses to give you the fundamental knowledge in your area of interest.
In听your fourth and fifth year you鈥檒l start developing your knowledge and applying what you鈥檝e learnt so far in a Biomedical Engineering context. You will study some core Biomedical Engineering courses and a range of Biomedical Engineering electives of your choice.
At the end of your degree, you鈥檒l complete either a Research Thesis or Masters Project. The Research thesis provides an opportunity for you to bring together engineering principles learned over your previous years of study and apply these principles to innovatively solve problems. The Masters Project allows you to experience research training either within the School or with collaborating institutions such as hospitals and CSIRO.听听
This degree also requires you听to complete 60 days of Engineering Professional Practice, which gives you some on the job experience before graduating.听This multidisciplinary educational approach connects students, academics and industry enabling听you听to develop the essential technical and professional听skills,听so听you听thrive in听your听future career.

Applications for undergraduate study from domestic students (Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents, Australian permanent humanitarian visa holders and New Zealand citizens) are processed by the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC).
