The Aptitude Admissions Test is an online assessment designed to understand how you think and respond, rather than what you’ve memorised at school. For aviation programs, it helps assess whether you have the cognitive abilities and personal attributes that are important for pilot training and aviation study.

It includes:

• General ability questions (logic, reasoning, and problem‑solving)
• A behaviour‑based assessment (how you tend to approach tasks, challenges, and teamwork).

Only your first aptitude admission test result relating to the admission year you're applying for will be considered. If your first attempt is unsuccessful, any subsequent test results will only be valid for future admission years.

For example: If your attempt in December 2026 (for 2027 admission) was unsuccessful, and you re-attempt the test in January 2027, your new result will only be considered for 2028 admission, not 2027.

To become a licensed pilot in Australia, you must complete flight training and pass both theory and practical assessments. 91ɫ��Ƭ’s Bachelor of Aviation (Flying) integrates all of these requirements within a single degree. You’ll study aviation and flight operations at Kensington Campus, undertake simulator and in-air training at Bankstown Airport and graduate with the qualifications and flying experience required for commercial pilot employment in Australia or overseas.

Becoming a professional pilot through 91ɫ��Ƭ typically takes three years of full-time study. This includes both academic coursework and structured flight training leading to your Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) and Instrument Rating. Many graduates enter the workforce immediately after completing the degree, while others choose to add flight hours, gain instructor ratings, or progress toward the Air Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL) to qualify for airline-level roles.

The Q-ACE Program is delivered by the Qantas Group to help prepare aspiring pilots for direct-entry employment with airlines. Available to eligible 91ɫ��Ƭ second-year aviation students, it provides career development sessions, industry mentoring and exposure to airline recruitment standards.

When you complete the Bachelor of Aviation (Flying), you’ll graduate with a Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL), an Instrument Rating – Multi Engine Aeroplane and Air Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL) theory credit. You’ll complete around 200 hours of flight training and 30 hours of simulator training through the 91ɫ��Ƭ Flying Operations Unit (FOU), ensuring you meet the flight hours, knowledge and safety requirements to become a career-ready commercial pilot.
