The Master of Engineering (Renewable Energy) is a two-year full-time degree thatÌýwill help you develop specialised skills and knowledgeÌýfor a successful careerÌýin Renewable Energy withÌýrecognised accreditation+. Designed for students who don't have a formal engineering accreditationÌýbut have completed undergraduate study, this degree will help you develop job prospects throughÌýspecialisation, retraining or cross-training.ÌýDuring your study you’ll study targeted courses in renewable energy and energy efficiency.Ìý
The Master of Engineering in Renewable Energy enables students to specialise and gain depth of knowledge in areas related to renewable energy technologies, systems engineering, energy efficiency, and assessment frameworks.Ìý

Entry requirements
Admission to this program requires at least one of the following:
- A 4-year Bachelor of Engineering degree (or equivalent) in a cognate discipline* that is not completed in Australia with a minimum credit average (equivalent to a 91É«ÇéƬ WAM of 65);
- A 3-year Engineering Science degree in a cognate discipline* with a minimum credit average (equivalent to a 91É«ÇéƬ WAM of 65).
*Due to the broad range of applications for the renewable energy field, all engineering disciplines are considered cognate.

English language skills are vitally important for coping with lectures, tutorials, assignments and examinations - this is why 91É«ÇéƬ requires a minimum English language competency for enrolment.
If you’re completing an Australian Year 12 qualification (e.g. NSW HSC or equivalent), you do not need to provide anything extra to prove your proficiency. Your qualification will be used as evidence of your English proficiency.
If you do need to provide evidence of your English proficiency, this will be indicated in your application. You can prove this by providing evidence that you meet one or more of the following criteria:
- English language tests and university English courses
- Prior study in the medium of English
- Other qualifications

What will I study?
Program structure
The Master of Engineering is aÌýtwo-yearÌýdegree, which can be studied part time or full time. In thisÌýdegree you’ll gain a solidÌýbackground in an area of your choice.Ìý
The structure of this degree provides the opportunity for students toÌýspecialiseÌýin an area of interest while gaining a depth of knowledge across a broad range of topics.ÌýThis degreeÌýserves as an entry point to move intoÌýtheÌýEngineering Profession.
With a strong component of on-the-job training, our program structure includes:
60 days of Engineering Professional Practice
Six disciplinary knowledge coursesÌý
Five advanced disciplinary knowledge courses
Two engineering and technical knowledge courses
One design course
A research project

Engineering and Technical Management coursesÌýwhichÌýhelp you build skills in project and or staff management, leadership and strategy. 
A design course which is specific to your chosen specialisationÌý– in this course you will be assigned aÌýdesign task relevant on an area of your studies.Ìý
At the end of your degree you’ll bring together all the Engineering principles you’ve learnt to solveÌýcomplex, open ended problemsÌýsuch as the development of a specific design, process and/or the investigation of a hypothesis.Ìý
This degree requires you to complete 60 days of Engineering Professional Practice, which gives you some on the job experience before graduating,Ìýenabling you to develop the essential technical and professional skills, so you thrive in your future career.

Across the world there’s rapid growth in the sector especially photovoltaics and wind, the most low-cost technologies to generate electricity. With a shift towards more efficient use of energy, energy storage and electrification of the transport sector, renewableÌýenergy engineers are now more in demand than ever.ÌýÌý

Accreditation
This program is provisionally accredited with Engineers Australia at the level of Professional Engineer. Graduates are not recognised internationally through the Washington Accord until the program successfully transitions to full accreditation status.
