The Juris Doctor (Parramatta) is primarily delivered at the Parramatta campus, where you’ll complete your core courses. Elective courses, to be selected in the third year of the program, are primarily available at 91ɫ��Ƭ Kensington, with a limited number also timetabled across the CBD campus, Parramatta campus and online.
Both programs offer the same 91ɫ��Ƭ Juris Doctor qualification, curriculum and academic standards, with the only difference being location. The Parramatta offering provides the same distinctive 91ɫ��Ƭ law student experience as Kensington, with slightly smaller class sizes and access to electives delivered across Kensington, the CBD, Parramatta and online, depending on course selection.

Entry requirements

Entry into the 91ɫ��Ƭ Juris Doctor is based on academic merit. Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree or higher in a discipline other than law, or a law degree from an overseas institution.

Domestic applicants

91ɫ��Ƭ offers both  and full-fee places. CSPs are awarded to the most competitive applicants, with remaining eligible applicants offered full-fee places. To be considered for both, include both options in your UAC preferences.��

Admission pathways

Indigenous entry��

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants may be assessed through the Indigenous Entry Scheme. This pathway supports increased participation in the legal profession and provides access to CSP places for eligible candidates. A separate application form is required in addition to your UAC application.

Transfers and credit��

Transfer from another university
Transfers into the 91ɫ��Ƭ Juris Doctor (Parramatta) will not be available during the program’s first year of delivery in 2027. ��

The 91ɫ��Ƭ Juris Doctor (Parramatta) is being introduced in stages, with first-year courses rolling out progressively throughout 2027. This phased approach ensures students at Parramatta campus receive the same high-quality learning experience and distinctive small-group education model as those studying at 91ɫ��Ƭ’s Kensington campus. As a result, transfers into the program cannot be accommodated in 2027.��

��From 2028 applicants currently studying law at another institution may apply to transfer into the 91ɫ��Ƭ Juris Doctor (Parramatta). Up to 48 units of credit (equivalent to one year of full-time study) may be granted for completed law studies.

Students with more than 48 units of credit may receive subject exemptions (without additional credit) and will need to complete electives to meet program requirements. Apply via .

Fee support��

Transfer from a full-fee place to CSP (91ɫ��Ƭ Juris Doctor Awards)

91ɫ��Ƭ Juris Doctor students enrolled in a full-fee place can apply to transfer to a Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP) after completing a minimum of 48 units of credit (UOC). Applications will be assessed on the results of your 91ɫ��Ƭ Juris Doctor study only. Awards will be offered to those students with the highest overall Juris Doctor and a minimum WAM of 75.00 is required.

The awards offer a fee reduction up to a maximum of the difference in fees between a full-fee place and a Commonwealth Supported Place for the remaining duration of the awardee’s Juris Doctor program. You may be asked to provide evidence of your English proficiency to study at 91ɫ��Ƭ depending on your educational background and citizenship. English language skills are vitally important for coping with lectures, tutorials, assignments and examinations - this is why 91ɫ��Ƭ requires a minimum English language competency for enrolment.

If you’re completing an Australian Year 12 qualification (e.g. NSW HSC or equivalent), you do not need to provide anything extra to prove your proficiency. Your qualification will be used as evidence of your English proficiency.

If you do need to provide evidence of your English proficiency, this will be indicated in your application. You can prove this by providing evidence that you meet one or more of the following criteria:
