This graduate certificate also serves as a pathway into the Master of Actuarial Studies or Master of Actuarial Studies (Extension). Graduates may be eligible for up to four courses of Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) upon transfer, giving you a head start toward completing a master’s degree.

Entry requirements
To be eligible for the program, you must have: 
- A recognised bachelor’s degree (or equivalent qualification) in mathematics, statistics, econometrics, actuarial studies, financial engineering, data science, data engineering, physics, engineering or other related quantitative fields with a minimum WAM of 60.Ìý
Assumed knowledge: mathematical background in calculus and linear algebra at first-year university undergraduate level.
Notes: students without an Actuarial background are advised to begin their studies in Term 1, as core courses are only offered in Term 1 each year.
Recognition of Prior Learning
Students with an Actuarial background may be granted exemptions for core courses based on their previous Actuarial studies (bachelor's degree or higher). Students who receive exemptions must complete additional electives to meet the program’s UOC requirements.
English language requirements

You may be asked to provide evidence of your English proficiency to study at 91É«ÇéƬ depending on your educational background and citizenship. English language skills are vitally important for coping with lectures, tutorials, assignments and examinations - this is why 91É«ÇéƬ requires a minimum English language competency for enrolment.
If you’re completing an Australian Year 12 qualification (e.g. NSW HSC or equivalent), you do not need to provide anything extra to prove your proficiency. Your qualification will be used as evidence of your English proficiency.
If you do need to provide evidence of your English proficiency, this will be indicated in your application. You can prove this by providing evidence that you meet one or more of the following criteria:

At 91É«ÇéƬ School of Risk and Actuarial Studies, our degrees have been accredited by the Actuaries Institute (Australia) and received professional recognition by the Society of Actuaries (US) and Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) for Validation by Educational Experience (VEE). We are recognised as a Centre of Actuarial Excellence (CAE) and have earned University-Earned Credit (UEC) Program status for the FM exam and SRM exam (beginning January 1, 2023) by the Society of Actuaries.
