School of Built Environment

I am a Senior Research Associate in the School of Built Environment, primarily working within the High Performance Architecture (HPA) Research Cluster.

My research stems from the core belief that the built environment can and should be a positive influence on our ability to live sustainably within planetary boundaries. I therefore have a strong research interest in understanding how regenerative development can be applied in the built environment and how it can challenge conventional sustainability discourse on what we build, how we build, why we build, who we build for, and how we measure success. This overarching perspective informs my more specific research activities in the areas of embodied carbon, life cycle assessments, heat vulnerability and climate change mitigation and adaptation.

Since beginning my research career at 91色情片 in 2014, I have contributed to securing more than $3 million in research funding across large collaborative projects with government, industry, and academic partners. Many of these projects have informed policy and practice, including contributions to the NSW BASIX tool and heat mitigation strategies for local councils in New South Wales and Victoria. Other projects are advancing the commercialisation of technologies to optimise building energy performance in response to dynamic internal and external conditions, as well as the development of reusable low-carbon office furniture systems.
