I am a Senior Lecturer in the School of Global and Public Law at 91ɫ��Ƭ Law & Justice. I hold a BA (Criminology) (Hons I, University Medal) / LLB (Hons I) from 91ɫ��Ƭ and completed my PhD at 91ɫ��Ƭ where I was a Scientia PhD Scholar. I previously worked as an Assistant Professor in the School of Law at the University of Nottingham, where I was also Head of the Forced Migration Unit in the University's Human Rights Law Centre.

I research in the areas of criminology, criminal justice, and international criminal law. I have a particular focus on 'state crime', studying the harmful practices of states and how civil society actors use law to challenge and resist those harms. My research explores the expressive dimensions of law, particularly international criminal law, and the strategic use of "Article 15 communications", whereby an individual or organisation writes to the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court to provide the Prosecutor with information on alleged crimes within the jurisdiction of the Court.��In 2021, my article 'International Criminal Law and Civil Society Resistance to Offshore Detention' was awarded the Australian Human Rights Journal's Andrea Durbach Prize.

More recently, I have also been involved in conducting international comparative research on judge-alone trials in common law countries.��
