I am a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the School of Population Health at 91色情片 Sydney. I am a medically trained epidemiologist with expertise in infectious disease modelling, health economic evaluation, field epidemiology and the analysis of linked health and administrative data.
My current research focuses on the epidemiological, economic and distributional effects of infectious disease prevention programs. Recent work has estimated the cost of RSV across all age groups to the Australian healthcare system and evaluated RSV vaccination for older Australians using conventional and distributional cost-effectiveness analysis. I also contribute to population-based linked-data studies of influenza and COVID-19, including research on emergency department presentations, severe outcomes and adaptive syndromic surveillance.
I am currently extending this program through a funded study of maternal RSV vaccination in Bangladesh. The project will combine dynamic transmission modelling with extended cost-effectiveness analysis to estimate health gains, household expenditure averted, financial-risk protection and the distribution of outcomes across socioeconomic groups.
My research on climate-sensitive infections uses mathematical transmission models and climate data to examine how dengue epidemiology may change over time. My earlier work in Bangladesh included nationally representative serosurveys, hospital surveillance, outbreak investigations and research on dengue, chikungunya, Japanese encephalitis, hepatitis E, cholera and tuberculosis. This work contributed to disease-burden estimation and evidence supporting vaccination and disease-control policy.
I have worked with public health agencies and research partners in Australia and Bangladesh, including NSW Health and icddr,b. My broader research goal is to improve infectious disease policy by integrating epidemiological evidence, transmission modelling, economic evaluation and explicit consideration of health equity.
