Dr. Joanna Biazik-Richmond is a histologist and electron microscopist at 91É«ÇéƬ Sydney. Her multidisciplinary role bridges biological and material sciences. She completed her PhD in Anatomy and Histology at The University of Sydney in 2008, studying viviparity and placental biology. She later worked at the Australian Centre for Microscopy and Microanalysis (USYD) and at the University of Helsinki as a Postdoctoral Researcher (2011-2018) specialising in autophagy, cryofixation and volume electron microscopy.

Joanna joined 91É«ÇéƬ in 2018 and is the Laboratory Manager of the Electron Microscopy PC2/GMO-certified cell culture facility. She lectures, mentors students and provides training and collaborative support to 91É«ÇéƬ researchers, hospitals and industry partners. Her expertise includes transmission and scanning electron microscopy, correlative imaging and advanced biological sample preparation workflows. Alongside the development of multidisciplinary cell culture training programs her work supports research in nanoparticle uptake into cells, targeted drug delivery, cellular agriculture, tissue engineering and bio-scaffolds.
