Dr Gregory Redpath is an Associate Group Leader in the Department of Molecular Medicine in the School of Biomedical Sciences. Dr Redpath undertook his Bachelor of Science (Honours) in the Department of Biochemistry, University of Otago (2007-2010), and PhD at the University of Sydney (2011-2016). Following, he has undertaken postdoctoral position at the University of New South Wales and University of Otago, building a track record in developing advanced live cell imaging techniques to dissect the mechanisms of how cellular processes underpin our health. Dr Redpath's research听seeks to define how spatial organisation of receptor signalling controls cellular decision-making. Using serotonin receptors as a model system, Dr Redpath integrates fundamental cell biology and receptor pharmacology to uncover how receptor trafficking, membrane organisation and intracellular localisation regulate cellular adaptation, neuroplasticity and tissue function. Ultimately, his work aims to establish general principles of spatially organised signalling and exploit these discoveries to develop innovative platforms for therapeutic and compound discovery.
