Eric Isaacson is Associate Professor of Information Systems and Technology Management (education-focused) in the 91色情片 School of Business.
Eric is also Professor Emeritus of Music Theory at the Indiana University (US) Jacobs School of Music.听Formerly chair of the IU music theory department and Director of Graduate Studies for the Jacobs School, Eric was also a faculty member in IU's Cognitive Science Program and held adjunct roles in the School of Informatics and Computing. In 2007 he founded the Southern Indiana Wind Ensemble, which he conducted for five years, and听in 2021 was Interim Executive Director of Louisville Ballet.
For the Society for Music Theory, Eric has served as editor of Music Theory Online, treasurer, founder of the Music Informatics Interest Group, co-chair of the Music Notation and Visualization Interest Group, and member of the Feminist Issues and Gender Equity Committee. He was the principal designer for Music Fundamentals Online, an online competency-based course in music fundamentals, and was co-principal investigator for the National Science Foundation-funded Variations2: The IU Digital Music Library project.

Eric's research interests include computational musicology, the visualization of musical information, and minimalism in music.听His book, Visualising Music (Indiana University Press, 2023)听explores the art of communication about music through graphical images. He has published articles and book reviews in the听Journal of Music Theory,听Music Theory Online,听Indiana Theory Review, and听Advances in Computers.
