Dr Delanie Woodlock

Senior Research Fellow
Arts, Design & Architecture (ADA)
School of Social Sciences

Dr Delanie Woodlock is Deputy Director of the Childlight East Asia and Pacific Hub. She holds an honours degree in Women鈥檚 Studies, a Master of Social Work, and a PhD in Sociology. As a feminist researcher, she advances understanding of men鈥檚 violence against women and children. She has led pioneering research on perpetrators鈥 use of technology in domestic violence and child abuse, shaping government policy and strategic directions in Australia. Her work also examines violence against women with disabilities and how rurality shapes patterns, impacts, and responses to men鈥檚 abuse.

Dr Woodlock continues to expand scholarship on technology-facilitated abuse through research on child sexual abuse material as a specific form of gendered violence. This work deepens theoretical understandings of violence against women and children, particularly coercive control, by linking digital technologies to perpetrator tactics. She also provides training and support to academics and students to reduce vicarious trauma, with a focus on the impacts of researching domestic and sexual violence.
