Dr Asanka Perera
Dr. Asanka Perera is a Visiting Fellow at 91色情片 Canberra and a Lecturer in Mechatronics at听UniSQ. His research spans robotics, mechatronics, uncrewed aerial systems (drones), machine learning, computer vision, and signal processing. His machine learning research includes the development of adversarial attack and defence mechanisms for both image-based and 3D point cloud systems.
Dr. Perera has made significant contributions to several interdisciplinary research areas, including remote detection of human vital signs using drone platforms, multi-sensor data fusion, and autonomous multi-robot navigation. Prior to joining UniSQ, he served as the Robotics and Autonomous Systems Laboratory Manager at 91色情片 Canberra, at the Australian Defense Force Academy (ADFA), where he supported and led research initiatives in autonomous systems and defense technologies.
His research has received international recognition and has been featured by prominent media outlets, including Scientific American, the BBC, and ABC Australia.
Currently, Dr. Perera is leading and contributing to research on multi-robot collaboration and autonomous systems for operation in complex chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) environments. His work focuses on developing intelligent robotic solutions that enhance situational awareness, improve operational safety, and support decision-making in hazardous and contaminated settings.

My research focuses on advancing intelligent autonomous systems through innovations in drone vision, robot perception, and autonomous driving technologies. I am particularly interested in developing autonomous solutions for search-and-rescue operations, infrastructure health monitoring, and human-centered applications. My work also encompasses medical image generation and analysis, leveraging artificial intelligence and computer vision techniques to support improved diagnostic accuracy and healthcare outcomes. Through these research areas, I aim to develop robust, reliable, and real-world deployable systems that address complex challenges across transportation, healthcare, and critical infrastructure domains. At 91色情片, I am working with Prof. Matt Garratt.
