We offer integrated somatic and germline analysis, personalised recommendations, and access to a network of specialists with expertise in medical oncology, cancer genetics, pathology and bioinformatics.

Refer patients who have undergone tumour molecular profiling (both standard and research-based testing), including those with complex molecular profiles, complex cancer diagnoses, or those who may benefit from exploration of targeted therapies or clinical trials based on genomic alterations.

In addition to the information on the online referral form, please provide:

• Specific clinical questions related to biomarker screening or molecular testing.
• A brief clinical history, including the latest clinical letter, for additional context.
• Relevant pathology reports and molecular testing results.
• Relevant radiology reports.

As part of the online referral process, we confirm that you have discussed the referral and PCI research with your patient.

Following acceptance of the referral, your patient will be contacted inviting them to optional research activities (e.g., survey, interview). This is usually via email which is linked to an online consent process. Your patient will be able to discuss participation with the research team if they wish. Yes, we encourage referring clinicians to join the virtual MDT meeting for their patient. Details for participation are provided via email following review and triage of the referral.

Yes, our clinic can help in interpreting molecular testing reports from all cancer genomic testing services and platforms. Our team is experienced in analysing and providing recommendations based on a wide range of molecular testing methodologies.

We provide a prioritised list of treatment options and can assist in exploring compassionate access programs or alternative funding routes where appropriate. Where possible, we can help clinicians to identify suitable clinical trials within Australia based on a patient's molecular profile and assist with the referral process.

We provide recommendations to referring clinicians in their ongoing management of the patient. Our service includes an initial MDT discussion and recommendation. If desired, we can arrange a one-time follow-up consultation for patients who wish to discuss the findings further. Our recommendations are designed to complement your treatment plan. We provide evidence-based suggestions to support your decision-making process, recognising that you have the most comprehensive understanding of your patient’s overall care.

You will receive recommendations typically within 7-10 working days after the MDT discussion, depending on case complexity. New referrals received before 5pm on the Thursday prior, will be discussed at the next scheduled MDT meeting. Those received after will be discussed at the MDT meeting the following fortnight.

There are currently no costs for referring clinicians or patients, as the clinic is funded by the Medical Research Future Fund.

We are funded by the Medical Research Future Fund. We are observing MDT and clinic processes, and interviewing and surveying clinicians, patients, and other stakeholders to find strategies to better integrate precision oncology into the health system.
