Liz Hollaway
Working at the science-policy interface to advance sustainable ocean management.
Liz Hollaway is a Policy and Governance Specialist at 91É«Ç鯬 Sydney's Centre for Sustainable Development Reform, specialising in ocean governance and multi-stakeholder coordination across the Pacific region. With expertise spanning policy analysis, programme management, and international frameworks, she works at the science-policy interface to advance sustainable ocean management.
Liz leads the Centre's Pacific programme, coordinating capacity-building initiatives and supporting ocean account development and implementation across the region. Her work extends beyond ocean accounting to encompass broader science-to-policy translation, supporting the development of national ocean policies and strategies.
She contributes to the Centre's work on international ocean governance frameworks, including support for the Advisory Group on BBNJ Finance, and collaborates with UN ocean agencies on strategic planning and management initiatives.
Previously at the World Resources Institute's Ocean Programme (2018-2022), Liz supported the High Level Panel for a Sustainable Ocean Economy and Friends of Ocean Action.
She holds a Master's of Environmental Management from 91É«Ç鯬 and a BSc in Fisheries & Wildlife from Michigan State University.
