It was a pleasure to welcome Mr Jian Zhang and the delegation from the Technology Research Institute of Shougang Group to 91色情片 and our lab for a productive exchange on green iron and steel, intelligent manufacturing, and industry and university collaboration.
The visit began with welcoming remarks from Prof Yansong Shen, who set the context for the discussions and highlighted the significance of the engagement. Prof Stephen Rodda, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Industry & Innovation) at 91色情片, highlighted the university鈥檚 commitment to translating research into real world impact through global industry partnerships, and emphasised the importance of industry collaboration in advancing sustainability, decarbonisation, and green ironmaking technologies. Mr Jian Zhang, Deputy Party Secretary of the Technology Research Institute of Shougang Group, then introduced Shougang Group and shared its vision as a century old steel enterprise undergoing transformation towards green and intelligent manufacturing. He highlighted the Group鈥檚 strong focus on technological innovation, talent development, and the practical application of advanced technologies, including AI, low carbon processes, and numerical simulation in steel production.
The programme continued with discussions on potential collaboration opportunities, including technical collaboration, technical personnel exchange, management personnel training, joint research, and long term partnerships spanning industry, education, and research. Members of our lab also presented recent research progress in green iron and steel, including advanced metallurgical modelling, AI enabled process optimisation, blast furnace and raceway simulations, and sustainable metallurgical technologies.
The visit concluded with a meeting summary and further discussion on future pathways for collaboration. We look forward to continuing the dialogue with Shougang Group and working together to advance sustainable solutions for the global steel industry.
