A multidisciplinary team of 91É«ÇéƬ students and researchers unites to shape the future of intelligent aerial and ground mobility through an advanced virtual‑reality testbed.
We’re delighted to welcome our newest cohort of Vertically Integrated Projects (VIP) students.  Dr Divya Nair leads the Flying Cars – Virtual Reality Simulator project, one of 91É«ÇéƬ’s most ambitious explorations into the future of mobility. This is a multidisciplinary initiative that brings together Aerospace Engineering, Art & Design,  Civil Engineering, Computational Data Science, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, Robotics & Mechatronics Engineering and Psychology,  staff & students to reimagine how people will travel in the decades ahead.
At the heart of the project is a high‑fidelity VR simulator designed to study passenger comfort, behaviour, and human–machine interaction across emerging mobility modes—including flying cars, UAVs, autonomous vehicles, and active transport. Students will help build immersive 3D environments, engineer motion systems with six degrees of freedom, and integrate data analytics and machine learning to extract insights that can shape intelligent transportation systems.
The project’s research teams model complex traffic networks for aerial and ground mobility; psychology, where behavioural and biometric data inform user‑centred design; and software development, where students create interactive VR landscapes using tools such as C++, Python, Java, and Unity.
By contributing to this cutting‑edge work, our VIP students are not only gaining hands‑on experience—they’re helping define safer, sustainable, user‑centric mobility solutions for the cities of tomorrow. The future of transport innovation starts here.
