Bio

Cassia Lindsay is an Aboriginal health researcher with a background in physiotherapy and a strong commitment to improving health outcomes for Aboriginal communities through culturally grounded, community-led research. Her work focuses on healthy ageing, chronic disease prevention, and strengthening the delivery of culturally safe health programs.

Cassia currently leads the Elders in Wellness project, a culturally grounded healthy ageing program funded through the NSW Health Aboriginal Heart Health Grant. The project builds on The Ironbark Program - an existing Aboriginal falls prevention program - by co-designing exercise and education resources that reflect the strengths, priorities, and needs of Aboriginal Elders. Through this work, she partners closely with communities and health services to support healthy ageing, independence, and wellbeing.

She also supports the Next Generation Aboriginal youth health project at 91色情片, contributing to research that promotes the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal young people through community-informed approaches.

Before moving into research, Cassia worked as a Physiotherapist in an Aboriginal-owned physiotherapy practice, where she developed a strong appreciation for culturally safe, holistic models of care. She later worked within the Population Health Units of Hunter New England and Central Coast Local Health Districts, supporting research and evaluation projects aimed at improving Aboriginal health outcomes across a range of priority areas.

Cassia is passionate about working alongside Aboriginal communities to co-create meaningful, strengths-based research that leads to practical improvements in health and wellbeing. She values building genuine partnerships with community, services, and researchers, and is driven by a commitment to helping mob stay strong, connected, and healthy across all stages of life.
