Suale Iddrisu is a third-year PhD Candidate in Environmental Humanities at 91É«Ç鯬 and part of the Environment and Society Research Group at the School of Humanities and Languages. His current research explores the political ecology of off-grid solar energy utilisation, repair, and e-waste management in sub-Saharan Africa, with Ghana in particular. His earlier work focused on land use/cover change, climate change and urbanisation in sub-Saharan Africa. His research has been published in leading international journals, including Geographical Research, the International Journal of Urban Sustainable Development, and Renewable & Sustainable Energy Reviews. His most recent publication (June 2026) examines the role of off-grid solar energy in advancing UN Sustainable Development Goal 7 across sub-Saharan Africa.
