I am a Doctor of Education candidate at the University of New South Wales, investigating the role of teacher instructional practice in shaping student motivation, engagement, and achievement in mathematics. My research explores how different instructional approaches, including load reduction instruction and inquiry-based learning, effect cognitive load, levels of student engagement and student achievement in standardised assessments such as NAPLAN and Check-in numeracy. In 2024, I presented at the 16th International Cognitive Load Theory Conference, sharing preliminary findings.

Alongside my doctoral studies, I serve as Professional Support Officer (PEO) to the Executive Director, Public Schools, providing high鈥憀evel executive, policy, and project support to the Executive Director, 16 Directors and almost 300 schools. I am committed to evidence鈥慴ased practice, innovation, and fostering strong partnerships across government, not鈥慺or鈥憄rofit, and education sectors, with a focus on improving student outcomes and building the capability of future educational leaders.
