Artist statement

These paintings are part of an ongoing body of work that re-emulate personal photos from mob all over, from different stages and moments in their life as a way to celebrate and physically remember these precious memories.

It is part of my Honours research in how portrait paintings of mob, guided by their stories and choosings, can visually reshape stereotypical associations with Indigeneity within the art and wider world.
