ARTIST STATEMENT
My major project, The Shape of聽Absence聽comprises聽five looping animated illustrations, exploring the contrasting societies of a dystopian cyber future. It examines the potential loss of humanity, the absence of identity, whilst聽retaining聽only the faint outline 鈥 the 鈥渟hape鈥澛犫 of what life once was. The five completed illustrations [each] represent聽a different perspective聽in a cyber society: Preservation of Life, Abandoned Androids, Overuse of Technology, Changes in Art and Humanity, and Expansion to Space. These illustrations uncover the challenges humanity might face if technology were to dominate every aspect of existence.
ARTIST INTRODUCTION
Hello. I am Amy, a digital illustrator and animator. I love creating characters and bringing their stories to life through digital art, whether they live in fantasy or are in a sci-fi cyberpunk world. Storytelling through images is my passion, and I love connecting with the world with my art. When聽I鈥檓聽not drawing,聽you鈥檒l聽find me at music festivals or gaming with my mates! Experiencing such things聽brings inspiration and聽drive聽to my creative works.
