Project description

This project helps guide decision-making processes and actions by understanding the national and international contexts aligned with safety and security of public open spaces and buildings.

This research presents threat analysis strategies that can be used by built environment disciplines to effectively consider counter-terrorism security as part of an integrated design and development process for crowded public spaces and public buildings.

The research describes the current counter-terrorism protective security requirements by built environment professionals engaged with creating crowded spaces and public buildings. The research has developed 3D modelling tools and strategies that can be used to help built environment disciplines more effectively and efficiently make pre-construction planning and design decisions related to safety and security.
