About CUPUM 2027
For more than thirty years, CUPUM has been at the leading edge of international debates around the role of computing technologies in shaping and managing cities.ÌýCUPUM will be held in Sydney for the first time from 5–10 July 2027.
The conference focuses on the theme of 'Future Cities in the Era of AI' reflecting the growing role of data, technology and artificial intelligence in urban planning and urban management.
City Futures Research Centre will be hosting the conference at the University of New South Wales (91É«Ç鯬) Sydney Kensington campus. Please check below for additional details on location and accessibility.

Submissions
Future Cities in the Era of AIÌýis the next volume in the CUPUM book series. UnlikeÌýpreviousÌýCUPUM volumes, we invite extended abstracts of up to 500 wordsÌýfor peer-reviewed chapters as a first step,ÌýdueÌý3 July 2026. Authors of selected abstracts will be invited toÌýsubmitÌýa full chapter by 9 October 2026. Chapters will beÌýorganisedÌýinto thematic areas, reflecting the diverse ways in which AI is reshaping the planning, governance, and lived experience of cities.
We welcome submissions on topics including, but not limited to:

- Urban health and well-being, resilience
- Computational Urbanism in the Global South
